Regarding the practice of faxing price changes, new listings and other advertisements to other real estate offices:
Eugene Marconi, General Counsel, CT Association of REALTORS®, Inc. has asked all local boards to pass along the following:
`Please notify your members that unsolicited fax advertising is prohibited by both federal and state law. Unless there has been affirmative consent to receiving the unsolicited fax, sending unsolicited faxes may subject the sender to fines and civil damages including attorney's fees. Please note there is no member-to-member exception to the unsolicited fax rule. Members should stop the practice of sending unsolicited faxes unless the member has the written (or faxed) permission from the broker or manager of the receiving office.'
